Release Notes: 20 July 2018

Dear Services,

We have some exciting announcements, features and improvements to share with our services.

Remember to stay subscribed to these emails to ensure you receive the latest updates on new features.

Submissions for week of July 2

We would like to remind all child care providers that session report submissions can only be backdated for 14 days without the provider having a breach recorded for late submission.

We will be conducting a special bulk submissions of all new sessions recorded for the weeks beginning 2 July and 9 July at 5:00pm today AEST.

This will be conducted alongside our regular session report submissions for the week beginning 16 July.

Child Care Provider Handbook

We would like to remind all services of the government's Child Care Provider Handbook, available online as a PDF document.

The Child Care Provider Handbook is a guide to the requirements and responsibilities of child care providers and services that are approved under Family Assistance Law.

A link access to the Handbook is available here

This Week's Updates

Parent Statement Enhancements

The parent statements have been enhanced with explainer text to help parents better understand various attributes of the statements.

Furthermore, many parents are still unsure of the many aspects of calculating CCS subsidy payments and estimates.

We have added some explainer text to statements to remind services and parents of how subsidies are calculated.

CCS subsidies and the calculation of estimates are subject to:

  • Hourly rate caps, varied per care type
  • Parent's CCS percentage
  • Maximum CCS hours per fortnight
  • A withholding percentage (of 5%) paid to parents by the government at the end of financial year

CCS Estimates and Actuals

Parents and services will now see CCS estimates and actuals within Office Admin interface and on parent statements.

Please Note: While estimates are currently being displayed at a session (daily) level, all CCS actuals will be displayed at a weekly level.

This corresponds with the government's weekly lump-sum subsidy payment process.
